    Rob thanks for this outstanding review as always. I’m interested in the 5.45 version of this beast rifle. Curious if you would think the RPK construction is overkill for the 5.45 round? Thanks.

    Thanks for this one, glad to see another one pass. Will standard AKM furniture fit this rifle, since it has the extra thick receiver?

      No it will not, rpk furniture and vepr 12 furniture will fit which still doesn’t leave you many options. Krebs has a fore end that will work but you will have to cut off the handguard retainer. FAB defense has a quad rail available as well as chaos does. There’s a few other options but not a whole lot.

    You mentioned a lack in support for accesories for these rifles and i’ll definitely agree with you. However I did find a couple options, either the Krebs keymod rail or the FAB quad rail for the rpk. They’re both made if T6060 Aluminum, weigh about 11oz ( I believe ) and about 300$. From your experience which would be the better option. This is my shtf rifle

    I don’t know if you remember me, but I was the one that asked you if you were to buy an ak47 right now on the market what would it be. I wanted the definitive arms, but they didn’t have them anywhere and I wanted to get it before the first of the year because I live in ca. You said Vepr and that was what I was already looking at. I have two Vepr 12’s and love them. So anyways I want to get your thoughts on this. I ended up getting it from gun broker. Got it off an FFL. Said new in box never used and when I got it it had rust in the reicver and the barrel threads are really rough looks like a retarded blind kid worked on it and look like crap. There’s a chip at the end of the barrel and it’s painted like they tried to cover something up. You can see some of the paint inside the barrel too and metal flakes. Also the finish has came off a little. So I tell the FFL and he acts like it’s not a big deal and that I’m being picky. Shouldn’t anyone be picky when they spend that much. It’s kind of the point to pay for a nice rifle I think and Since I live in ca FIME won’t let me send it back. So I have to send it to him and have him send it back. He’s been cool, but it seemed funny that he said he would be pissed if they tried to stick him with the rifle and now he it seems like he’s going to stick me with it. If these things are not a big deal why would he be worried about ten trying to stick him with the rifle, if it’s just me Being picky why can’t he just sale it to someone else. I would think a gun dealer should’ve just had me send it back and send me a new one, or give my money back. Am I wrong. He keeps saying to take it out and shoot it and if it shoots good then who cares. I care. If you went and bought a new car and the next day you noticed the paint on the roof was all messed up and say your windows didn’t roll down and you called the lot and they said well, if it drives good then who cares. Stop being picky. I know, if I sold guns I would expect them 100% before I sold it to someone. Maybe I’m wrong, or maybe he doesn’t want to give back the $1,355.00. Yeah that’s what I paid. I think the gun shouldn’t have anything wrong with it. I know they make great guns. I just got a bad one. What would you do if you were me. Thanks Rob.

    Also I did stick to my word. I have bought a couple of things off you and will continue to buy anything I get from you as long as you have it. I’m actually I’m going to look right now. There’s a few things I’m looking for. I still think it was really cool that you got right back to me when I wrote and asked you a few questions. Your not one of those guys that thinks he’s to cool and has got a big head because people know you from your show.

    Your review of the mighty vepr concreted my decision on pulling the trigger on the purchase and am loving this beast. Anyway was wanting to put the m4 stock adapter on it and was just wondering if any modifications had to be done to make it work since the receiver is a bit thicker. Thanks

    I just got myself a vepr fm 7.62 and i wanted to put an m4 stock as well. But will changing the furniture void the fime group warranty or not? The one you will have next week will be just plug and play then? Btw Rob thank you for your amazing videos your reviews helped me decide to go the extra mile and get my vepr. It feels good to have an authentic piece of Russian engineering.

            I thought that most of the wear and tear parts are interchangeable with other AKs. Maybe I’m wrong

    I got my vepr fm 2 months ago and my slr 107 a few weeks ago and I’m happy I did (slr looks great in Polish wood). I Just checked k-var and they are out of out of most vepr and arsenal akm rifles. I’m starting to worry about ammo now.

    Hey Rob, did you drop in an alg trigger in the vepr. If so was there any modifications that needs to be done for the trigger to work properly. Also looking for a quality Polish AK any suggestions.

      It was drop in on my vepr. No issues. As for Polish AKs, check Atlantic Firearms, they had some DAKM AKs which are made from Polish kits
