Century Arms International C39 Pistol review

14/10/20 at 7.36pm   /   by Rob Ski   /   23 Comments

C39 line has become flag ship for Century Arms. Without loosing the steam, CAI has released pistols based on popular C39 milled receiver. With ATF recent ruling on use brace, pistols has become extremely popular in USA, because brace offers users taste of short barrel rifle without hassle of going through stupid paperwork. We have put that C39 pistol for series of grueling tests to see if this little bastard will hold the line and continue to go Bang every time. Here is our video review on Century Arms International C39 Pistol!

AK Adaptive Weapons System

14/10/12 at 11.35am   /   by Rob Ski   /   4 Comments

217803060AK Adaptive Weapons System is designed to be used mainly on AK rifles, but it is offered for M4 rifles as well. This made in Odessa set is very clever in design and enables operator to quickly adopt his weapon to combat situation by changing configuration to different muzzle devices. System consists of four parts (modules): 1 – DTC Adapter, 2 – noise-canceling screen, 3 – sound suppressor (suppressor) (“suppressor-1” or “2-suppressor”) and 4 – protective cap for thread on DTC adapter. Makers of this system claim that with suppressor-1 configuration, 40% noise reduction is achieved on 7.62×39 caliber and 55% noise reduction is recorded when suppressor-2 is setup. To put this thing into perspective, this is almost the same noise rate as from .22LR rifle round. This muzzle devices set is available for following calibers and threads: 7.62×39 14-1LH, 7.62×39 24×1.5mm, 5.45×39 24×1.5mm. Company is based in Odessa (Ukraine) and st this moment doesn’t offer online sales yet. Below i’m posting pictures of different setups and configurations available for your weapon.
Please note that base module is very similar in design to PWS FSC – at this point I’m not sure if there is enough changes and improvements done to it to avoid possible patent infringement case…

AK 47 (AKM) LANTAC Drakon Muzzle Brake DGNAK47B review

14/10/06 at 5.20pm   /   by Rob Ski   /   2 Comments

LANTAC is new to the AK world with their muzzle devices. They go after AK market with their Drakon Muzzle Brake DGNAK47B. This is their first product for AK family, but LANTAC is a brand name in world muzzle brakes manufacturers. Drakon features old 14-1LH AKM thread style, weights 2.8oz (79.3g) and is made of hardened military spec steel. One of the main departures from AK brake styles is fact that DGNAK47B has no characteristic to AK muzzle devices notch – instead it relies on crash washer for secure installation…but watch full review to learn more about that $160 brake.

Don’t Buy Junk AKs!

Dressed nicely “Piece of Shit AK”

Look at this rifle in picture on the left, looks like a decent Bulgarian AK74 clone, right? WRONG!!! It is complete piece of shit! But let me start from the begging, some time ago I have received that AK74 clone made by one of “mass makers” – it supposed to be our “Union Duty” AK, but right off the bat something was not right with it. Rifle was keyholing and it didn’t feel right. So immediately that AK was taken away from “line of duty” and I have used it mainly for pictures. Finally time has come and I could get back to that AK and make him useful again. One of my good friends volunteered to help me with this project. “Bulgarian 74” was taken apart and look what we have found inside…
Basically, the barrel journal was undersized and the barrel was “knurled” to make it fit along with an extremely over sized pin which was almost cut into the chamber, you can see in the pics that the barrel pin hole was drilled to almost .320. Now please remember that .305 is the maximum allowable for it to be in spec….

Barrel

Due to the over drilling of the barrel pin hole the front trunnion needs to be replaced as it is not safe to weld up and re-drill. So the trunnion was pulled out and we found that not only were the wrong sized and type rivets used but they were not even dimpled for structural strength…All this is simple invisible to the eye, unless you pull the gun apart…I understand that not everyone can afford high quality AK, but I’m speechless with stuff like this.

Trunnion

I’m not going to drop any names here, because I don’t want to hurt people who were acting in the good faith, but I want to bring this to the light to put some things into the perspective. I know that some of you would like to have AK and don’t want to spend serious money on it, but please understand, that when you are buying these mass produced “AKs”, most of the makers will cut corners. They will “make parts fit” no matter what, they don’t care about specs, correct rivets and etc…I know that it is hard to fight the “urge” of owing new AK (right?). But please, as you can see, some of these atrocities aren’t event visible without completely disassembling the rifle, which is impossible when you are going to buy it…think about it before purchasing that new “budget” AK…So please, Don’t Buy Junk AKs!
