What is the trick to getting an AK from Palmetto? The day the 74 went up it was instantly out of stock. The 103 and AKE have also been out of stock. I know people are panic buying but this seems to be the norm with Palmetto.

YOU need to try to put up an informative and entertaining blog site with great testing documentation digital presentations and hosted by a guy who has clearly been around. Things may come easier then. At least, that’s what I think, never having been notified by PSA for a quickly depleted item coming back into for sale status, when said request has been placed. Did get a query once asking if i was still interested. Just have to be on line at that moment. ( Gave up on popular concert tickets more than a couple of decades ago for the same reason )

Clearly it’s obvious Rob probably gets some preference from the manufactures. I wasn’t saying anything about that. That’s understandable given what he does. I’m saying palmetto needs to step up their game. They knew this rifle would be high demand and yet it seems they didn’t bring many out to sell. Also you can take a look at gunbroker and see that several shops bought many of them and are now reselling at a gouged price 2-3x msrp. Sure it’s a free market but would be nice to see Palmetto anticipate this kind of thing.

PSA is making more guns than ever before – they sell more than ever before. Demand is crazy now, because of political climate in the USA, civil unrest, Covid19 – this is perfect storm. This isn’t my first time rodeo, but I have never seen gun sales at levels like today. Everything sells out in matter of minutes. As far as buying gun from PSA – track their social media – their Facebook group and AK Files. They posted exactly when those will be available…More is coming.
I don’t see this situation to resolve until elections are over and then, if Biden wins, you can forget about finding anything in stock…If Biden loses, things should settle down…remember 2016? Manufacturers couldn’t give AR15 away for free…now i can’t buy buffer tube without jumping through the hoops…lol

Question. I just got 103 and was lucky enough to get a 74 that just shipped from PSA. On the 103 I had to push the front sight all the way to the left to zero at 25 and 100 yards. Front sight appears not to be canted and I don’t know the issue. To my eye appears barrel is almost bent looking to the left but might just be my mind playing tricks. Rifle is zeroed using a stable rest/rear bag combo so I don’t think its me throwing the shots because it shoots a great group. Contacted PSA and they have been great and will work to fix problem/ship to them for free if I want. Is this truly a possible problem with the rifle or is this acceptable for a ak. I plan to shoot rifle out to longer distances and am worried is will continue to push left at 2/300+ ranges. Thanks for any response in advance.

I would take them on offer. When you were able to zero it, it could be annoying to have front post pushed all the way to one side. However, it is kind of “normal” for AKs…still, if PSA is offering to fix it, I would use their offer.

Hello rob I just got my 103 gun looks and feels amazing but first mag through it the trigger spring untensed and seized the rifle into single shot I had to reset the trigger manual and shoot 1 round at a time , I pulled out some needle nose plyers gave it some twist and tension and the gun shoots fine now. My only concern is the back deformation on the tail, deformation looks like yours did in the videos but you can’t fit a card between the Bolt carrier and the bottom of the tail, should it be that close where you can’t fit a card between both the bolt carrier tail and the bolt ? Only shot 200 rounds. Thanks again man !

Keep watching it, it should stop. For now, I don’t think there is anything to worry about it yet. Good fix with trigger spring!

I wonder if you know what size the side folder pins are in both the polymer and the triangle stocks for the PSA ak-74?

      It’s exactly 4.5mm. Bulgarian ones say it’s 4.5mm but it’s anything from 4.48mm to even 4.43mm – depends.
