Thanks for the vid, Mr Ski. I was also wondering (as Asamurai is above) – What is that handstop/AFG you are running on your AK there? It looks like the perfect size/dimension for an AK. Thanks!
I catch looks all the time when I am hammering on my WASR to clear a stubborn jam. Glad to see I am not the only one who encourages “tough love” with their AKs!
Rob Ski, I have a Wasr-10 after about the first 100 rounds each time I take it out to the property it begins to have soft primer strikes. I use mainly Tula but tried Winchester white box to see if it was the ammo I was using but still light primer strikes after 3 or 4 rounds. I then brushed and soaked my bolt in solvents for several minutes, took it out put 100 rounds through it, again started having light primer strikes. I figured it may be the firing pin but after examining the pin the flat back didn’t seem to mushroom or be warped in any way. I have only put about 3-4 thousand rounds through it and the gun was purchased new with matching # parts. Your feedback would be greatly appreciated. Love the YouTube channel too.
I just checked the head space borrowed some gauges from my buddy, and its all good. After looking at that I went back to the firing pin and it seems its a little deformed but nothing too major, so I went ahead and ordered a new FP.
What grip is that on your Magpul MOE AK handguard?
This is from TDI Arms, their upcoming product

Ahh cool. Thanks, Rob. Looking forward to checking this out once it’s released.

Have you try to check head spacing on it?
No, I figured since it ran flawlessly the first 3k rounds I eliminated that possibility from the list.
Check it. Maybe something changed. This would be my first call. This and firing pin.
