I agree that the price gouging makes getting a new vepr not worth it. I own a vepr fm and love shooting it, but twice the price does not translate to twice the gun.

I wanted to get into an AK platform and when I went to pull the trigger on a Vepr they were all gone…..That’s when I found out they were just banned. I thought that I would just go ahead and get what I thought was the best AK offered and now I don’t know how long this ban will last. I’m not sure if I should try and wait it out and get the WASR to hold me until then or maybe go ahead and get an Arsenal. In my research it seems all the American AKs are not quite up to par with com bloc AKs. Anyway keep up the good work,I totally enjoy your channel…

I think the review that rob did on the palmetto showed that they make a decent ak. I don’t think you will go wrong with a Wasr either. I don’t think the ban is going away any time soon. if anything, they are a sign of the deteriorating state of affairs between the United States and russia. If you want to get one quality ak and be done with it, go ahead and get an arsenal. It’s a gun, not a tattoo. If you don’t like it, just sell it

watch Iraqveteran8888’s ultimate ak47 meltdown starring the wasr 10 . 300ish rds and failure . if continued the the barrel would have walked out of the trunnion . 2 of the best ak’s (O-PAP and FM-11) are off the table now . get on gun broker and buy yourself the MAK90 . 922r it and you’ll have an ak that can go toe to toe with the best . i own 4 mak’s, fm-11, wasr 10 and feg, the wasr is a cheap truck gun thats all its good for . the MAK90 is a go to war weapon !
MAK’s and wasr’s have been know to have canted FSP, GB and RSB, so learn the 5 point inspect and choose wisely as i have done .

Lets hope the Bulgarians step up supply to Fime group . Its sad that as shooters really begin to appreciate good AK rifles , they become harder to get, in some cases ( Russian) impossible –and we get bombarded with crap Ak’s .
Lets hope the void is filled by quality imports .
    And –welcome home !!!

Anyone know where to get a Vepr 7.62x39mm extractor? Or are they the same as other AK’s ? Thanks in advance.

I live in Alabama and recently purchased a nicely converted Saga, 7.62 x 39. Great shape with 3 magpul mags. Did end up paying $700 out the door. Did not want to pay that much but my WASR 10 was lonely and am a little concerned about the price of Russian stuff. Opinions on my purchase welcome and wanted.

Thanks Rob. Was able to take apart and examine before purchase and knew what to look for because of your video blog. Your website has been a great source of information. keep up the good work.
