    Hello,
I am just wondering if you know the length of a new ALG defense recoil spring. Thanks for the replies

If you have old spring, then yes, this will help.

    Hi Rob!

I looking to purchase some back up springs for my AK for a ‘just in case’ scenario. Would you recommend this ALG over a Wolf, or would either be adequate? Thanks for your time and thanks for providing such excellent reviews and information for we aficionados of the the AK!

Something that has not been mentioned is that this spring is made from chrome silicon instead of music wire. CS offers much longer life as well as superior springiness. Check this source for a more technical explanation:
http://Www.davidtubb.com/articles. Scroll down too Spring Design.
Note ALGs trigger spring is also made from CS.

    Keep up the good work!

I was wondering if anyone has noticed more failure to feed than you usually have using this stiffer spring?
Before changing my spring I was shooting Tulammo with no problems. I changed to wolf performance just before I changed to alg spring and had a few failure to feed, but it seems like I had a few more after I changed springs.
Now I’m into my Barnual mil-spec and had one fail to feed out of 60 rounds.
I’m going to put my stock spring back in and shoot some more Barnual and see what happens.

Tim what kind of rifle did you use this spring in?

I had it in my Vepr. Sorry I didn’t get back to you sooner, these threads get buried fast.
I was thinking weak loads strong spring could have been the problem. I haven’t shot it much after putting the stock spring back in.

Put a Tapco slot brake on my rifle, started short strokin, you sell any reduced power recoil springs? Just 2-5 pounds should work.

No, sorry man, but that’s just crazy. It means you are not getting enough gas. Try to clean with pipe cleaners gas port.

I just took my M92 pistol out a couple of days ago and put 200 rounds through it with the ALG spring. No issues at all, and might have been a slight reduction in felt recoil (or it was just in my head). Either way, glad to have what I think is a better overall spring in my pistol. Thanks Robski. Quick shipping. Love AKOU.

Is this compatible with a recoil buffer, my cousin has kids and I’m trying to make my AK as soft shooting as possible for them

Yes. It’s like regular spring but stronger.

They are new, when factory one, especially from the kit, could be little abused and “softer” by now.
