Sweet shoot’n cowboy. Big difference, between a well trained, career and short term soldier. Most civis don’t have, that kind of training though. Its like, when I did the BUD/S WO & ran 14 miles, not everyone can run that distance or come in 1st. People will try their best for, what they believe is passable but not really their fault, just haven’t been taught those things or fired on military lines, classes, ect. My 2 cents.

      Hector,
This is my first time at this website, and already I know that I will be back. I have just got so much to learn, and plenty of time to do it in. I am not certain which one of the popular semi automatic rifles I am looking for, the AR platform or the AK. I know that I have to first figure out what it’s use will be.
Your observation about training and running made me think back to when I was playing organized sports in high school. I was never the fastest runner, be it football or baseball, or even track. But I could honestly say that I would have beaten everyone in a race, if it were simply who could run the farthest. That is because I would not stop , if the other guy was still running. I think that perseverance is the biggest factor in predicting success in both athletics and in life.
It all comes down to the never give up attitude. Obviously that is a character trait that you possess, and it is something that nobody can teach you, or take away from you.

New to sporting rifles this year. I purchased a PSAK 47 and I only use Golden Tiger. After putting about 600 rounds through the rifle over a couple months and periodically re zeroing the open iron sights at 100 yards, I had a chance to shoot at a 400 and 500 yard 12 inch steel target. I was hitting the 400 target between 5-6 out of 10 shots, shooting prone. The 500 yard target was more like 2-3 out of 10 shots. That was tough. But I was really impressed with how well the rifle did at 400 yards being operated by person with no training or military experience and using the factory sights. My AK is very accurate IMO
